New to the role – with respect for what’s already here

A strong heritage to build on
Edsbyn was by no means an unfamiliar name to Kimmy when he first walked through the doors of AB Edsbyverken. His impression was of a strong and well-established company with a long history, skilled employees and high-quality products.
– But it’s only when you step inside that you truly begin to understand the culture, the people and the commitment throughout the organization.
The combination of a strong heritage and significant opportunities ahead was an important reason why he accepted the role as CEO.
– Edsbyn has built a fantastic brand over many years. Now I have the opportunity to work together with our employees to continue developing the company, create growth and ensure that we remain the natural choice for our customers in the future.

The team comes first
Curious, committed and clear are three words Kimmy uses to describe his leadership style. He wants to stay close to the business, listen to people and make decisions based on both facts and dialogue.
His approach to leadership has also been shaped by a long background in sports, both as a player and a coach.
– Sports have taught me that success is always the result of strong teamwork. Individual performance is important, but the greatest results come when people are all moving in the same direction.
The people have also made the strongest impression on him during his first days at Edsbyn. Kimmy describes a strong sense of commitment and pride in the products, the customers and the company.
Looking ahead
Edsbyn has been around since 1899. For Kimmy, the strength going forward lies in combining all that experience with the desire to keep developing.
– When we combine our heritage with innovation, customer focus and sustainability, we have a very strong foundation for becoming a market leader and achieving sustainable profitability.
If we repeat this interview a year from now, he hopes to be able to talk about a stronger position in the market, even better collaboration within the organization and continued value for customers.
– Above all, I hope I’ll be able to say that we have continued to build on the proud Edsbyn spirit and that our employees feel optimistic about the future and proud of the journey we are making together.
Kimmy outside of work
Kimmy grew up in Stockholm but has lived in Dalarna for the past 20 years. Today, he lives in Svärdsjö outside Falun with his wife Sara and their family. With four children and an active family life centered around sports and local clubs, everyday life involves its fair share of logistics – something many families can probably relate to.
Whenever he gets the chance, he likes to spend time on his greatest passion – fishing.
