The Layers series
Layers is a series of acoustic panels designed by Monica Armani to merge function, form, and visual impact into a single expression.
Unlike traditional sound absorbers, Layers is meant to be seen – inspired by the moss-covered forest floor of Sweden, with its shifting levels and rich textures. The smooth base plate absorbs sound, while mushroom-shaped wooden elements deflect it, together creating a distinct acoustic experience. The combination of concave, convex, and flat surfaces results in cleaner sound and a striking graphic rhythm. Scalable from subtle accent to full installation, Layers works as both an effective sound improver and a visual statement.
