Andreas Engesvik

Biography

Andreas Engesvik is one of Norway’s most prominent designers and has played a key role in bringing contemporary Scandinavian design to the international stage – helping shape the strong reputation it holds today.

He holds a bachelor’s degree in art history from the University of Bergen and studied design at the National College of Art and Design in Oslo, where he graduated in 2000 with a master’s degree in design. That same year, he co-founded the design studio Norway Says. In 2010, he established his own practice, Andreas Engesvik, Oslo.

The studio works across a wide range of design disciplines – from furniture and tableware to industrial design – collaborating with international clients such as Iittala, Muuto, FontanaArte, Ligne Roset, Asplund, and Edsbyn.

For Edsbyn, Andreas Engesvik has designed several pieces, including the Gather seating series and the Clair sofa series.
